Right, he only gets praise because the media wants Asian players to succeed.

    (He's a basketball player, apparently).

ESPN is apologizing for an offensive headline posted after Jeremy Lin and the Knicks fell to the Hornets Friday night, ending a dazzling 7-game win streak.

The headline, "Ch-k in the armor" was up for about 30 minutes before being pulled down, ESPN said in a statement, as the controversy continued to grow in volume on Saturday.

Obama said in a podcast interview with ESPN affiliated sports website Grantland.com that Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, who was once captain of Harvard’s basketball team, told him about Lin “way back when.â€

“What’s interesting is the fact that somehow folks were missing it in practice,†Obama said. “It is a terrific story. He seems like a wonderful young man. And, look, it elevates this great sport all around the world.â€

Obama, who received a law degree from Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Harvard in 1991, said he watches the NBA via the League Pass program on his iPad, which provides live video of every game. He said he pays for the subscription himself.

Quite a kid... I saw a show that mentioned him last night and like Tim Tebow, he gives praise for his talents to his Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ. Nice!

    A case of Linsomnia??

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2012/03/03/the-knicks-sleep_n_1318446.html

Insomnia, he explained, is associated with a state of hyper-arousal, which includes increases in sympathetic nervous system activity, which, in turn, is linked to adrenaline release. "So it's physiological, not just psychological," Kram said, comparing it to the sleeplessness that people experience in anticipation of an upcoming vacation. "Everybody is just really stoked about what's going on."

Novak told Francesa that the doctor who visited the team handed out relaxation CDs to help ease the insomnia. The idea, Kram said, is to spend time after the game unwinding instead of trying to force yourself to sleep, which will only make things worse...

I just told my wife about Jeremy Lin this morning. He is an inspiration and role model to anybody not blinded by bigotry.

I give him a pass on the religious claptrap if he needs it to stay modest and even keeled. He certainly strikes me as smart enough to avoid becoming a caricature of the religious zealotry like Tebow.

Lots of interesting stuff to say about Lin.

First, the NY media hype. Lin plays anywhere else except NY, there is no Linmania.
The Knicks desperately need to get on the map, after years of mediocracy. And NY is now the TV sports showcase city--the biggest advertising market.

In the NBA, anybody who can shoot can be a star. The trick is to get enough shots.
You shoot 25 shots in a game, make 10 of them, you got 20 points. Most decent NBA players can shoot 40%. The trick is to get 25 shots.

The other thing is the NBA stereotype. Needless to say, Lin does not fit the stereotype.
I'll let you fill in the reasons.

There are probably other players in the NBA who are as talented as Lin, but haven't been lucky enough to get the major minutes Lin got in NY because of injuries.Good luck to the kid. Any player with brains who can shoot has a shot in the NBA.

Knicks head coach D'Antoni resigned on Wednesday. He's replaced by old-school assistant coach Woodson.

Is this the end of the Knicks' Linsanity-fueled style of basketball?
