I have a 2007 Prius Touring, that I recently bought secondhand. There is this little box that is stuck onto my dashboard using adhesive, and has a wire connected to it and it goes back into the car. I'm wondering what it is. I'll attach an image of it. Also sorry if this is the wrong forum section for this, I thought it fit in best here.
Congratulations on finding the correct forum, that's rare around here... It looks like an aftermarket product of some sort, perhaps a transponder for a toll road or bridge, or maybe it was part of a fleet and this is a tracking device? The wire probably connects to the 12v lighter socket wire, or at least that's how they usually do after-market installs.
Ah ok glad to hear this is the right forum haha. And ok I figured it probably wasn't a stock device or something like that, but figured I might as well ask anyway. I'll probably remove it haha, Thanks!
Winner, winner. Chicken Dinner. Most likely someone had the satellite radio module installed. Does the satellite radio work? Why is it covering the central speaker though?
The factory sensor/receiver is all the way to the right-side, and up against the windshield. Maybe the original was damaged so they relocated the replacement. When you turn on Satellite radio, do you get the same message on all channels asking you to subscribe?
