What are those little pads under the battery.

I just saw something that has me wondering. On the work bench where I had set the old and the "new" hybrid batteries last week when I got the "new to me" battery from @TampaPrius.com, I just notice three small rectangular foam-like pads. I thought the batteries were bolted solid to the car. Does anyone know where they go and if it's important enough for me to dive back in there? I can't find them googling or searching here.

Shouldn't matter at all. Battery fits so tight no place for it to go.
Pads prob for cushioning which is unnecessary.

This is the 12 volt battery? If it's not the original battery, maybe previous owner put them in there for a little shock resistance? I don't recall any pads when I switched ours out, but it wouldn't hurt. One thing: the hold-bracket is very close tolerance, unforgiving of even slight height variation. Maybe the pads were put in to both cushion and "soften" the tolerance. I much prefer the long threaded rod with hook on the end style of hold-down; it's height adjustable through the threaded portion of the rod.

Sorry. I should have been specific. It's the HV battery. I'll edit the OP.

AND, I think I know what they are. They were probably there to keep them from sliding on the cart Todd had them on. I just never looked at the bottoms of either the old or the new battery.
