I ran Dr. Prius battery tests (97+%), and to warm the engine I also tried Normal and Power modes for the first time (car is new to me). It has a lion heart, the tame Prius!

Deep cleaned the wheels, added rubber mats all-over, and ran a full aux battery charge with a charger.

Double checked my cat shield to see if it's causing that extremely annoying rattle that I got a few weeks ago!!

I found the Dr. Prius app for my iPhone but needing a good OBDII Bluetooth reader that works with it...what do you use?

Yesterday, I washed and waxed our new 2021 Prius AWD and discovered it's a huge PITA to wax a white car! It's very difficult to see the dried wax and I ended up using a hand held light to help see to buff it off. But looks great!

I tried to get an explanation from my local Toyota agent ( Cumaca, Mijas.)on why my Prius decided to not drive forward or backward ,like it had decided to go into neutral no amount of changes to the throttle or drive choice would give any response. The car just rolled out into the street and I had to leave it there overnite. Come the morning all was back to normal. Ambient was over 35c at the time and I had just finished a 160 klm
drive. Their response was nothing wrong with your car , it’s Hybrid go away and enjoy your car.
Not good enough , all sorts of scary thoughts of when it happens again.

Be Roy Feather: Did your car's check engine light come on? If so, you need to get those codes to help diagnose the issue.

DIY? Care to share a how-to, if that's the case?

I just cleaned my wife's 2017 Throttle Body and glad it didn't look very dirty at all. I should've also cleaned out the MAF sensor but I don't have the specific cleaner...the store was out when I looked for it. (You want to only by specific cleaners....must say Throttle Body Clean and must say MAF Sensor cleaner).
I'd heard new MAF sensors can cost up to $400 but just looked for a 2017 Prius and it's only $74 so that's good..makes cleaning it less scary for me!
Watch this video by a master Toyota Technician/Mechanic (he told me he's working on a video of cleaning a MAF Sensor too)

Since I park my car in the sun at work and it can get pretty hot....but I'm afraid of an afternoon thunderstorm popping up, I just installed some Goodyear side window deflectors. I'll be able to leave the windows down an inch or so which will help cool it off for those traction batteries.
Hopefully they won't make any wind noises...if so, it'll be pretty easy to heat up with a heat gun and remove them..

Was it? Years ago, my daughter had a Suzuki car and it was making horrible noises and ended up being old, rattly heat shields underneath. I secured the ones I could and removed the ones I couldn't....problem solved.

Glad my Goodyear side window deflectors are not making any noises.

It bugs me that my 2021 Prius did not come with a spare tire, especially since my commute is just under 40 miles, one way. Our 2017 Prius does have a spare (which we've used earlier this year when a front tire went flat.) So the spare on the 2017 is a T125/70D17 and part number is 42611-47631. Only place, so far, I found that has it in McGeorge Toyota, but they want over $20 to ship. Surprised Discount Tire or Big O Tires doesn't have spare tires on their websites.
Since I need some Toyota WS fluid to service my daughters tranny in her 2012 Sienna, I'll ask my Toyota parts department tonight for a price on the spare. I found a handy set of scissor jacks (much better than what Toyota puts in their cars) and will pick up a lug nut wrench at Harbor Freights.

Searched and searched but don't think anybody makes a bug deflector for the Prius...that stinks. It's not for my new one, it has a clear bra, it's for my wife's which is getting way too many dings on the paint on the front.

Also discovered we can't just buy a replacement spare tire....we have to order a tire and then the wheel, and only Toyota has them. (So not cheap, of course) I'm putting a spare in my car since it doesn't have one.

Since my spare wheel/tire are on order, I took apart my tailgate compartment and even though I only have the little compressor and Toyota fix-a-flat kit, I still have a scissor jack and crow bar....so that's good. (I have a much better scissor jack I'll put in there.)
I had heard you can, still, fit a spare in their but discovered the AWD models have a small rear-wheel motor there...so the spare will just have to sit in the storage area.....I'll see if I can find a little vinyl cover for it.

Used it to go to the hospital, carrying my wife in labor.

Did the job impeccably and in style, and now the world has one more little sunshine in it!

Are you talking about this? It was literally the 1st and 2nd link when I searched. I didn't even realize there was an OEM part for this
