What does the name "Prius" mean?

    2005 Prius
    I was curious, (like curious George) and looked up the word Prius. It is a Latin word meaning "to go before." Toyota chose this because they produced a Hybrid before anyone else, I guess. Probably everybody knows this, just wanted to bring it up. :D
