    The "Right to Repair" is discussed since John Deere appears to be the cutting edge of this nonsense. It also applies to Prius and EV owners as this can effectively lead to a monopoly on vehicle repair.

    I am sympathetic to the problem of hacks that violate emissions controls. But locking out owner self-maintenance or even 3d party maintenance is not the right answer.

    The EPA and others have already showing it is possible to do remote, in-the-field, emissions testing . . . especially along side the highway. That is the way to go.
