I have seen several people listing their Prius as having package #9. I have never seen that one listed as an option. What does it have that package #8 doesn't have?
    Just curious!!

After a year of research, a purchase of a Prius with option #8....I think I can be pretty sure there is no such thing as an option #9. If there was I would have bought it. :)

    Cheers

In 2004 (not sure about 2005), what is now package #7 used to be package #9 (Nav-bluetooth, airbags, VSC, homelink night mirror, "premium" sound, etc.). Leather didn't use to be an option.

OK, I'll bite. My package #9 would include 8-way adjustable power seats with memory presets.

    In 2004, the top package was #9, in 2005, the top was #6. In 2006, it's #8.

    So, as brasche said, 2004#9 == 2005#6 == 2006#7.

Here's links providing the non-numeric package ids, some of which match from year-to-year:

    Yep John,

that's our sticker too, #9. funny all we really wanted was the Prius with NAV system but at the time the dealer said there were only 3 packages for sale in N. CA, #1(?), 7 and 9.

    So we got 9.

Package 9 is the SDS (SUV Destruction System)

You push a button and the rear wiper protrudes outwards and becomes a laser canon. The MFD shows a targeting scanner and automatically locks on to, and incinerates vehicles with under 20 MPG. The red FIRE button is located on the steering wheel.

I thought I had package #9. I know i got the fully-loaded package so when the profile presented the package selection, i chose #9 because it was the max. Actually 2006 priuses only have up to #8. So I actually have #8.

Is your avatar a photo of yourself...kissing your Prius? Ok I'm a Prius fanboy as much as the next person here, but...kissing your Prius? AND having someone taking your picture while doing it?

All I have to say is, I'd hate to be the guy who dings your car.

Priapus is a #9 but a 2004. The problem is that when I was purchasing him, I had to keep refering to it as the "BC" package because every time I said "number nine" I ended up saying it over and over again:

    "number nine"
    "number nine"
    "number nine"
    "number nine"
    "number nine"
    "number nine"

Package #9 is a conspiracy to overthrow Exxon. I was surprised to see it mentioned here as it is top-secret.
