Hi! Here's my question: We just hit a dog ! Hit it with the front passenger side. When examining the damage, husband found a white plastic container which came from the space between the front passenger tire and the bumper. It had no fluid, no odor, and no hoses were hanging. No warning lights are illuminated. Yes, we are still driving, returning home from Thanksgiving holidays....The car is driving just fine...I can't find what that part was? Does anyone know? We did not take a picture of it, nor take it with us....

I was also wondering what a rendler tank is. It's not the washer fluid. You can't see it looking under the hood, but getting down and looking in front of the actual front passenger tire. We did make it home, though!

Sadly, the dog did not survive.

That part most likely is the resonator attached to the engine air intake system. Its purpose is to reduce the sucking noise made by the engine as air enters the throttle body and intake manifold.

If the resonator is damaged, there's no impact to driveability. The engine might make more noise, that's about it.

Well I can sleep tonight, I have learnt something. In all my years as a mechanic I have come across these boxes but never knew they had a name beyond a harmonic resonator.
