What "Mode" am I in?

    I've got a pretty good handle on how HSD functions on the current Prius, and I can consistently get 60 MPG during the warm months. I know how to Glide, Stealth, and Warp Stealth. But, I have a question as to what mode the Prius is in when I'm at Hwy speeds (60-70 MPH) and can feather the gas pedal back so far to see on the Energy Screen a steady 99.9 MPG and yet ICE is indicating power output and the MG is alternating output to the wheels and battery. This is achieved just prior to a total lift of the gas pedal, where regeneration would of-course occur.
    How efficient is the mode as compared to warp-stealth?
    Curious because I can sustiain either one at will for extended periods at hwy speeds and on slight declines.
    So , which is better, overall MPG wise?

    It's pretty close to NICE-on (shifting to Neutral while driving). I've seen RPM go to about 1200, or so, and at 60 MPH comes out to like 120 / 130 MPG. Injectors are still firing so your burning fuel.

    Warp-stealth is no fuel burn at all, so it's infinite MPG.

    So 130 MPG vs Infinite MPG.

    I *think* warp-stealth gives the advantage, but things are so close
    in those operation regions that it's hard to tell. Warp stealth
    also almost requires instrumentation to be able to maintain under
    all conditions, so it isn't necessarily for everyone all the time.
    .
    I think the fact that it's clearly a designed-in mode of operation
    speaks a lot, however -- not just dumb luck or a coding bug!

    You said a mouthful there. There is far more operator latitude and operating potential designed into this car than the average owner is getting out of it. I don't think most folks truely realize how to maximize or exploit this car's capabilitys in thier favor.
