    Reason for this topic?

This morning, I actually saw a Ferrari F40 on my way into work, surpassing my previous record (in terms of exotic and price) sighting of a '04/'05 Bently Continental Coupe...

Anyway, here's what an F40 looks like...

    I believe it's around 1/2 million...

WOW! Dang, I see F430s (and F360 Modenas), Continental GTs, saw a Silver Seraph recently. I've seen several Murcièlagos and Gallardos. I think the most exotic I've seen is a Bentley Azure convertible. It was parked on the roadside, top down! That car is ~Cdn$½M when new.

My friend saw an SLR McLaren at the airport. It had Alberta licence plates . I can't believe she didn't take a picture :(

Yeah, and what gets me, is the roads were wet too... Then again, I suppose if you can pitch out for a $500,000 vehicle, you might not care too much...

Agree on the Bentley Azure, that thing is AWESOME! It's something insane, has like twin turbo's... speed, power, and luxury, all in one...

I would have taken a picture (I specifically got a camera phone for stuff like this), but traffic was too f'd up, and he scurried off the highway shortly after I passed him...

Oh yeah, I PASSED him in my PRIUS!

    You go GRRL! :p

$500K for a car... man I wish I had that kinda disposable income (or even an 1/8 as much) <_< .

    :p

I got a look at who was driving it, it LOOKED like The Edge of U2, but I can't be sure... Was wearing a Seaman's hat, and had a few days growth on his face...

Wow, a DUKW. Those things are vintage WWII/Korea, no? Can't say I've ever seen one painted white and, uh, modified like that before.

Developed in WWII, apparently, and then used in both WWII and Korea. They have a fleet of them (well, a small fleet) as tour busses up here.

On a sunny spring Saturday, they're all over the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle.

Same here... I believe (I could be wrong for ONCE :p ), it started in Boston, as "Duck Tours"...

Supposedly, the guy who took the chance on such a "ridiculous" business venture is now far wealthier than he ever imagined... Spectacular if you ask me, make use of ancient equipment for tourists and wind up a multi-millionaire...

I followed this puppy for a couple of miles around Sacramento a few months ago.

Oh, they are around a million dollars or so per copy . . . of course there aren't that many copies, so the price is high.
I made extra sure I didn't bump into it.

DUKW tours started in the Wisconsin Dells well over 50 years ago (the Original Wisconsin Ducks, as they call it). IMHO, it's one of the few worthwhile rides at the Dells.

There's also the DC Ducks in Washington.......pretty cool splashing into the Potomac. :D

I'd still love to go on the duck tours in Boston and Seattle. Living in Chicago, though, that wouldn't exactly be a road trip.

Apparently he imagined being far wealthier than he already is.

Of course, any time large sums of money are to be made somewhere in the USA, someone is going to get sued.

I’m glad I don’t live or work within earshot of those "Wacky Quackers."
After a while, I’d probably feel like going duck huntin’.

It counts as far as I'm concerned, I've never seen one. I did see the Aston Martin DB7 that James Bond (Sean Connery) drove in the old 007 movie Gold Finger. This was 30 years (well 20 anyway) before GPS and the car actually had a fake map display that supposedly would track it's position. I remember thinking that it was not possible to ever actually have such a thing.

I don't think you will ever see one as they are collector/investment cars. There are only about 110 copies ever made.

I happened to see this MaClearn F1 because one of the VP in my company owns it. He has an enzo too.

    Ummm, yup.

As long as it was being used on a public roadway...
