I was wondering if anyone has experienced wheel noise when driving at low speeds? It sounds like you can hear the wheels rotating. I'm not sure if its the hubs or what. It defiantly doesn't sound like brake noise.

    Are you windows up?
There is not much sound deadening material in the Prius so some roads make more noise that others.

    Hi!

If I am not wrong, the noise you hear is the mechanism that makes noise to alert passerby that an electric vehicle is coming their way.

That contraption is there to save accidents. I learned about it while watching this video of a dealer pitch to sale more Prius. You can see for yourself at

I hope this answer your question.

The vehicle proximity notification system (VPNS) started with the 2012 model. On a 2010 it would be other issues- maybe tire wear noise. After about 20K miles, I had a noticable noise from the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires on my last Prius. Also, could check tire for objects stuck in tread.
