    The 17's and edge rimmed bridgestones on my 2011 five are to me the keystone to its appearance. I think if I didn't have them (after seeing what they do for the car)...it would really bug me.

    Glad to hear you are happy. What is the difference from OEM, if you do not mind the question ? I cannot see it in your picture.

    Agreed. The 17" wheels and low profile tires really add to the look of the car--not to mention handling.

    They are OEM. I'm just remarking that I'm glad they are offered As an option. The basic wheels make the car look totally different.

    I've swapped back and forth between my oem 15s and my aftermarket 17s. One offers excellent mpg and the other offers great looks and superior handling. I always end up back on the 17s but I long for the mpg of the 15s. Uggg

    Y ourcar looks great with the wheels even if she is a bit tall. ;)

    Loosing my 17's is the one thing I'll miss when I get my PiP next year... Though on the Plug-in I think getting the 15's is best to maximize EV range. I can definitely tell a difference when driving my dads Prius III to my Prius V, and the MPG reflect a difference as well.

    Question - What do you guys do w your 15s if you purchase 17s? Do you hang on to them or sell them (if so, how much)? Is there a market for OEM 15 wheels??? I don't think I have any spare room in garage to store a full set of wheels...

    I swapped my 15's with... 15's. But these 15's store winter tires and the others have the LRR tires.

    If you live in a place with "seasons" it might make sense to mount good winter/rain tires on the stockers with your bling-bling tires on the new rims.

    Yes there is a market for OEM rims. Everytime someone hits a curb, they need just one or two. Parting them out is better cash wise but you have to wait. Or you can just ebay/craigslist the whole set. Don't expect much but it is better than nothing.

    You can always hang them on the wall or ceiling in your garage.

    LOL! I just go agro and smash em. That's how we roll in Cali.

    Mark, I think you should stick with the 15s on the PiP. You could lower it if you need a little style. ;)

    Here's the height of industrial fashion: Naked OEM 15" wheel with Michelin X-Ice-2 winter tire. I'll have to find something new for spring-summer.

    I do not know. Given the cost of those donuts and wheels, mileage hit, I might have shelled out for OEM 16's IF they offered, but really I couldn't care much. I dig my 15" plastic wheel covers. Hopefully they come off pretty easily for checking wheel nuts and before I take it in for tire rotation (don't want them pulling my covers off).

    It's probably about 4 , maybe 5 MPGs typically.

    I think the Geniii is about 3 mpg-4mpg whereas the GenII is 4-6 depending on tires. The extra power of the Genii may help mitigate some of loss.

    People with oem 17s will tell you they are not losing any mpg because they still meet EPA ratings yet none of them have swapped to a set of 15s with similar tires and tested the mpg difference. I've been doing it for years with multiple sets of tires and I always lose between 4mpg-6mpg. *shrug* If it makes them feel better then let them believe that their wheel choice doesn't affect their mpg. :)

    I agree. I was torn. I really wanted that additional 2-6 mpg from the 15" wheels but I couldn't resist the look of the 17" wheels. And for the first 3 tanks, I am getting 47.5 mpg (calculated), 49.5 mpg (from the car). I can live with that.

    The mpg difference between the two wheels over 15000miles is maybe $80 @ $4/gallon.

    Wheels are important. They're like shoes. And I love shoes.
