I've got new rubber on the 15" wheels of my totaled 2010 Prius. I'm buying a 2007 with 15" wheels.
I'm planning to switch the wheels (with tires) from one vehicle to the other to keep this simple and
not get into mounting and balancing. Is there any reason this might not work or any precautions to
take. My 2010 had tire pressure sensors and the 2006 doesn't so I don't think that will be a significant
    factor.

There are wheel sensors on 2006 and up Prius cars. I'm not sure if gen2 and gen3 sensors are compatible and switched with eachother. You may have to remove the sensors on the gen3 wheels and put in gen2 sensors.

They only changed the tire size in gen3, went up slightly for a 185/65/15 to a 195/65/15. This will not affect the fitment of the wheel onto the gen2. Your speedometer might be off slightly from the 185/65/15 readings.

I have gen3 wheels on my 2005 and there are no compatibility issues whatsoever.

that's interesting because all the pipers have been avoiding the genII spacesaver like the plague. controversy was endless and no real conclusion.

when you make the switch, have the sensors removed, and new rubber valve stems installed; the sensors sometimes cause problems-- the ends break off, or the nut cracks, etc. they kinda suck and I wish my '06 didn't have them.
