I suspected it might be bad, when I noticed the SKS started getting flakey, so I had the Stealership, change it @ 106,000 miles as part of service, I asked them to do a load-test on AuxBattery, it failed, total (inc. service etc.) $250 (I think new AuxBattery was ~$180; been perfect for the past 42,000 miles (…I put it on trickle charger every time the car is in my garage). But as they say, YMMV! ;)

I bought the ACDelco ACDB24R on amazon (I acted when my clock couldn't keep time anymore). It will only fit SKS equipped gen2s without alteration.

In the NY region (Amazon has price discriminated according to customer profile in the past), the price has increased from $147 in 2018 to $187 today.

I believe pepboys has a $150 Bosch offering, add $10 for install.

I bought mine at Pep Boys. It is a Bosch and cost something like $130 on sale installed. They did a good job installing it and so far so good for over a year.

The symptoms I had was occasional Parking system warning, not starting sometimes (bust starting without a jump after a while), SKS not working right, etc.

I had my brakes go out on me twice and the car actually die on the highway. To prompt me to replace mine. The odd thing was I cleaned the oversized terminals because I had to order the OEM ones and the car was fine after that. At least until I installed a Toyota Factory 12v. 186 dollars

Don't remember when I replaced the 12 volt. Probably between 4-8 years ago (it's a 2004 & I'm the original owner.) Discovered it when the car would not start one morning. I think I called my insurance company's road service plan & they took care of it.

That means I probably need to check it by now. Action item.
