Where, How To Adjust Std. Headlights on 05 Prius as they were aligned too high from factory and I want to reset them myself. I've looked everywhere under the hood and on this board too, and I can't find a reference for adjusting/realigning for the 05. The info on the 04 didn't seem to pertain as it mentioned removing the radiator support and adjusting a philips screw, however the headlights are quite far away from the radiator support.

Any help, pictures, movies, guided tours, would be greatly appreciated.

    Tanks a mucho.

The owner's manual states how to adjust the headlight aim. You'll need a screwdriver. It's near the pages where they tell you how to remove the bulbs.

hmm, interesting. I have the 04 manual on my home computer but I won't be home til later this evening. Perhaps someone else with an 04 manual can give you the exact location. Either that or they removed that feature for 05.

tideland when you put in your silver stars did you notice the little star wheel? Also Ken you'll need a #2 phillips about 10" long to get down in there. Your looking for a little U shaped slot and in the depths of it you'll see a starwheel, the screw driver just sit's in the U and when you push it in to engage the star wheel it keeps the screw driver from coming out of engagement. Dave in Olympia has the little snap in cover and the wheel is behind it and down behind the headlight.

KTPhil, can you point me in the general direction, I have the rad. cover off, but I cannot find a thing that look like the drawing. Is it in the back, near the headlight bulb??? I can't seem to see anything which remotely resembles either the kidney shaped cover or the star wheel. Is this accessed from the top of the engine compartment?

    Thanks, Ken

Is proper adjustment of headlights by a Toyota dealer covered during the new vehicle warranty period of a 2005 Prius?
