Where to check / replace 12v Gen 2 battery in Bloomington IN?

    Does anyone know of a mechanic in Bloomington who could check that the 12v battery needs to be replaced (it seems to be dead) and replace it, if necessary?

    It doesn't seem worth towing it outside of Bloomington, so I'm looking for someone who is likely to be reasonable in Bloomington, if possible.

    Well, any Toyota dealership would spring to mind. The retail chain store Batteries Plus sells Prius batteries and would certainly test it for free and sell you one if needed.

    They replace most car batteries for free, but the Prius is a bit more complicated. Would not hurt to call a local Batteries Plus store.

    But, again, the dealer is the obvious choice (probably about $300 for parts and labor at the dealer).

    If Batteries Plus will not install, they might steer you to someone who will.
