Where to find parts? (specifically map lights)

I have a 2002 Prius and neither my mechanic nor the usual spots (Advance, the online places I have run across) can find replacement bulbs/lamps for the map lights. Does anyone know a part number or a source for these things?

Thanks for any help you can give!

You want one that puts light forward.

[edit: actually, 2002 might take a different bulb in the map light. The vehicle cross check is ambiguous. Compare the pictures with the bulb to be sure]

Thanks for the reply. No, they don't match. The 2002 lights are held in with a metal clip, it seems, and are clearly incandescent, not LED. Any other suggestions?

Of course LEDs would be preferable.

No, they're single-node incandescents. I'll snap a picture later and post it.

Frankly, looks a lot like this one:

    I'm stumped.

Take the bulb with you to your local hardware store or auto parts store. See if they can find you a match. Make sure the voltage and wattage match as well.
    Good Luck.

Have you ruled out the parts counter at a Toyota dealer, or is there none near you? That was what I did when my 2001 needed map lights, and it was pretty quick and painless. I think they charged about four bucks each. I guess that might be more than you could spend someplace else, if you don't account much for your own time finding the someplace else. The part number might be 90981‑12005 according to toyodiy.com (but then, the dealer can usually handle it just fine if you say you've got a 2002 Prius and you're looking for map light bulbs). They won't be LEDs though; if you want those you'll have to find your own retrofit bulb that will fit.

Thanks, Chap, I guess I instinctively avoid Toyota dealers because I have that "dealer = expensive" mentality. But, of course, if I can't find it online, it seems perfectly reasonable to go where one can get them AT ALL. I will do that.

BTW, this is what they look like, in case it jogs anyone's memory.
