I'd like to put three airtags in my 23 prime someday – one in the cabin, and two hidden.

Any current owners able to suggest good spots, easily accessed but difficult to stumble upon, say under the car? Or would they be redundant with Toyota's built-in tracking (which I have yet to educate myself on).

They are redundant, but IMHO it is not a bad idea to put something like Airtag inside as a backup tracker.
Both of those work differently, so there is a good change if any incident ever happen, one of them would help to locate it.

I would say in the back underneath the carpet where the spare tire would be. Nobody ever looks under there unless they have a flat.

I say tuck one under the rear garnish board, or maybe in the front grill.

That way it can be seen/heard from by more passersby.

It's the large, body-colored plastic panel overlaid on the rear hatch metal. It forms the ledge that shades the license plate lamps, rear camera and hatch release.

I haven't seen this part on a Prime, but on most cars this area offers pretty good access from below without any disassembly at all. Not difficult to imagine gluing a tracker tag up into that area. Nice flexy plastic that takes adhesives well, reasonably protected from the weather, yet outside the car where it can see more phones. Plastic part that doesn't block RF.

There's a pretty good spot just to the side of the license plate lamps on our c-model.

Eventually of course you have to go back in and access it to change the battery.

so plan accordingly- don’t make it TOO inaccessible.

yeah like the idea of something I can mount with double-sided foam tape or hot glue and then pop it back out again without much fuss when the time comes.

I have not yet invested in any kind of airtag or other tracker, but I've been looking into it for a few weeks.

Imagine that – an Apple product the size of a toonie with a user-replaceable battery. Will wonders never cease?
