Which is the Best NAVI GPS with Bluetooth for phone

    Any body know which is the Best NAVI GPS with Bluetooth for phone?

    -There is Nuvi 660 but look like it does not load the phone book (I read some where that I forgot)

    -Also Nuvi 360 not sure this one is good or not?

    Did you try looking at the TomTom 510,710 or 910?

    I haven't compared the Garmin Nuvi 360 against its competitors in the TomTom or Magellan line, but I played with one for a few days and thought it was quite good. The Bluetooth voice quality was quite a bit better than what I get with my 2005 Prius and RAZR (which was 100x better than I got with the Prius and a S-E T637).

    If you didn't already know, you can download .kml files from Google Maps or Google Earth and convert them to .gpx files and load them as POIs into a Garmin GPS. I'm going to guess that you can do the same with TomTom and Magellan GPSes.

    Wish I could tell you about the phone transfer, but I can't :(

    But I can tell you that I bought both TomTom units and Garmin units for my team to use and I was the guinea pig for both units. The TomTom units were nice but the NUVI was so much nicer. I liked the interface better and the Garmin didn't seem to get lost as easily nor route me to "wrong" routes as the TomTom. I also loved the fact that the Garmin tries to pronounce the name of the street rather than just saying turn left at the next intersection, though I understand the new models will do that too.

    Just my $0.02.

    Don't you already have a bluetooth connection through your package #4 Prius? Or is the GPS/NAV for travel only?

    P.S. I would opt for the 660 right now as the screen is bigger. :D

    I don't think TomTom uses .gpx extensions but I assume you mean simply changing the extension to whatever one's GPS system uses. I'll give that a shot

    Depends on the units. Some have text-to-speech and some don't. Mine doesn't. The Nüvi line is definitely more feature packed but is way more expensive than my unit and at a price I wasn't willing to spend. But as a unit, they have garnered many praises. The dictionary of common phrases may prove quite useful.

    Hi Tideland Prius,

    Thanks for the info. The Tom Tom are above price range is US $500-$600, and the Nuvi 360 is about $560.00. So I think the price is almost the same.

    According to the manual it does this automatically when you pair the phone with the GPS. I don't remember explicitly transferring my phone book to it, but I do remember having to erase the phone book from the GPS, so I believe it works as advertised. What I don't know is whether the GPS keeps separate phone books for each phone paired with it.

    Np. The screen is larger than the 360 at 4" but the 360 is definitely slimmer than the TomToms above.

    Just make sure to look at the x10 versions cause they're the latest ones running on v.6 software. The x00 models are older.

    I'll suggest this route...

    Mapopolis

    With this Pocket PC

    I have had Mapopolis for some time, and it is absolutely fabulous. I just bought the Pocket PC, and although it is a UK model, it is also fabulous. The combo can't be beat, IMHO. Mapopolis has maps for North America and Europe. To hold all the North American Maps, you will need a 2GB SD card. However, the detail level for Canada, if you need it, is also superb.

    Why not just use the bluetooth in the car? The original poster has a 2007 #4, so I assume that the car came with bluetooth. Bluetooth is listed as one of the items included in package #4 at least according to the Toyota web site.

    I own the Nuvi 660. It does load the whole entire phone book from my Razar.
    Something I wish the Prius bluetooth would do....but does not.
