    Hello!

I've read about the problem with failing MFD's. I have a 2005 with no info button on the steering wheel. Is there any way to tell if I have one of the older, possibly prone to fail MFD's or the newer fixed one that is in the new 2005's?

    thanks!

Maybe you could pry that out of Toyota customer service using the VIN? I don't recall ever seeing the range of affected VINs.

    Check this link:

    http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/mfd/

Hobbit has the TSB chart which will tell you if your MFD is the potentially bad one or not by the P/N. You have to remove the MFD to see the P/N.

He even tells you how you could fix it if you are handy with a soldering iron. ; )
