Will this be your regular mileage, or just a one-off?

U had any problems so far, none here. I'm debating buying another one the last of 2017, am interested in how durable the new Prius is going to be.

Not really, but it is still very new.

The only things less than perfect:

    1. Front cone (only) has a lot of small paint chips from rocks.
    2. The black 17" wheels get dinged up a bit from careless use of a socket wrench when rotated
    3. My right front radio speaker buzzes -- but only intermittently on AM talk radio-- odd, right?
    4. I had 2 multiple rebooting events on my radio -- months apart
    5. Parking sensor recall and brake recall

I am still debating on whether or not to take the car in to have the radio looked at while I am still under warantee. Tires are doing well -- 8mm at 30k if I recall.

34,500 since May 1st, or just a hair under 5000 miles per month...my commute is why I got the Prius. 225-230 miles per day, round trip.

The only things that have gone wrong (if you can call it that) is:

    - I'm getting a little rattle that sounds like an exhaust heat shield when the engine is at very low RPM.

    - I get a minor squeak (increases/decreases with road speed) that I notice only around parking lots when the steering wheel is turned just a little to the left.

At my last service in November, the service writer said they should be able to take care of the parking brake recall at the service I'm going in for this morning. If not, no big deal...I'll be back there in January for the 40K service. And hopefully they'll be able to address the rattle and squeak today as well...we shall see.

I've got around 9400 on my 2016, but had the dealer replace the streaking wiper-blades. I have had the air-bag recall and the parking brake cable recall taken care of. This occurred last Friday in Venice, Florida. Other than that, no issues at all.

I see on Fuelly you have 40k miles logged now, congrats! You are most likely one of the highest out there unless there are professional drivers using the 4th gen already (taxi, courier, etc)

Your 230 mile commute is just to get TO work, not actual work. Does your work compensate for drive time/ mileage? Or do you still put in your full day of work be it 8, 9, or 10 hours, then commute back home (~115 miles?)?

8-9 hour days at work, plus the 2-2.5 hours commute each way (4-4.5 hours total time in the car on a typical day). It's long days, but a great job. It's a situation where there is really not much that is closer to where I work that's also a good place to live, so I commute. Also, because my husband is a student very close to home, one or both of us is going to have a big commute, and his schedule tends to be a little more unpredictable than mine, in terms of demands on time. No mileage or time compensation, but the people I work with are very flexible...if I need to now and then, I can do some stuff from home, so if for example the weather makes it unsafe for me to come in, I can stay at home and do at least some stuff from there.

The commute is obviously not ideal, but it's truly a fantastic job, and it all works.

27,500 and counting ... Virtually no issues. Change oil every 5,000 with Mobil 1 0W20.

That radio issue sounds like a speaker going bad to me. Is that the speaker in the dash, or the door?

... Nor me, but I have managed 3,050 in two months! I've just completed an ipsos.de survey on my Prius for Toyota. Don't suppose they'll change anything even if they do read all about it.:cautious:

I had a friend in TX where him and his wife were both driving almost 3 hours in the opposite direction to work every day. I believe his commute was close to 200 one way, at 70-80mph. This was in 2008-2010. Since then, they have relocated.

I am very curious what it is you do for work. I need to find a fantastic job for myself!
