Who has watched Oscars tonight? WTH was this all about?

    Black actors are over-represented in Oscar winnings. It's the Hispanics, Asian, and other minorities who are underrepresented. How come they don't boycott or protest Oscars?

    Am I missing something?

    I thought the protest was about the Oscars being all white this year, not that there was no black nominations. So the Hispanics and Asians could have been protesting.

    Who really cares. This is just a club of overpaid insiders taking turns patting each other on the back. It's not like they are asking us, the viewing audience, what we think.

    I'm proud to say that not only did I not watch the awards ceremony, but I'm pretty sure that I haven't seen any of the films.

    I did read the Martian, and I'll watch the flick.....someday......when it's on Netflix or the rental price is low enough.

    I think I was more ticked off by all the damn late alerts I kept getting from all my news apps about the oscars! Immediately deleted them all....

    maybe you were right. it wasn't the impression i got from watching Chris Rock's jokes. He made it white vs black issue, while the real issue is White+black vs other minorities. he even made a racial joke about asians. Maybe he was just misguided, but it really felt like bulling tactic for more Oscars for African-Americans.

    The black segment could have been more vocal than the other minority groups, or simply the ones reported in the press.
