Hmmm, that will deflate some stereotypes, won't it?

Huh...! I wonder how recent that data is, and what the remaining % not shown, for each classification, is.

If I categorize myself, choosing from only the 8 distinct "grouping answers" shown, I fit into only 2 of them.

We've seen that before. The population of respondents was self-selected, Reader's Digest readers or something, and therefore not at all representative.

These numbers don't jive with the assertion that 16% of hybrid owners are on the west coast. Either:

    1. OP's numbers are BS.
    2. OP's numbers were done by people unable to do math or intentionally skewing the statistics.
    3. These numbers are BS.
    4. Midwesterners buy their cars from the West coast.
    5. 1 and 2 are correct.

I am sure it has to do with the self-selection of survey respondents.

The only way the could really get accurate numbers is to find ALL the Prius owners, or at least look at car dealership sales. And that would only answer the "where are they being driven" question.

    I'm Independent.
    I live in AZ.
    I am 36.
    I have a college degree.
    I make more than $40K/year.

I read RD and I didn't answer the survey. I didn't even know about it, or perhaps it was done before I bought my Prius.
