    Who will be selling the most autos in America (it's a continent, remember?) Clue: It's the same company who brings us the best quality for the money. It's the company who has the best customer service. It's the company who pays their upper management what they are worth, not what they want. It's the company who uses their government credits and give-aways to invest in their future, not to line the pockets of their upper management in the short term. It's the company who deserves it. Who is the company who I support with my dollars by buying their great products, thier stock and who I steer prospective new buyers to. Why it's TOYOTA of course! :D

    i voted Ford. carried mostly on their truck and mustang lines, plus crown vics. for law enforcement...

    however, i would not be surprised if it honda, even though they're light on the truck side of things...

    wouldn't be surprised if it were toyota either...

    I am just curious to see which brand of cars and trucks the PCer's would think sell the most vehicles in the United States. While certainly not a random sample I consider PC to be on balance a well-read group of people. It looks as though most PCer's are not voting so I will post last years sales results soon.

    I figured that this is either an "ah ha" question (you know, like the question, "which star is closest to the Earth?") or that Malorn is making a point that General Motors still sells the most cars in the U.S.

    Just pointing out that GM and Ford and DCX are not dead---although most of the media would lead you to believe otherwise. In fact had a lengthy discussion with a newspaper guy(not business) over the holidays that 'knew' Toyota sold the most cars and trucks, and if they didn't wondered why everyone said GM and Ford were toast.

    I think for several years the Ford F-150 has been the single most popular vehicle, so, with Ford's other offerings, I'll go there.

    Edit: posted this before I saw page two (obviously). Go, Chevy! Bring back the aluminum-block Vega! :lol:

    I don't recall any media ever reporting that the Big Three are dead. Everyone knows they are still selling cars and trucks. What is getting pointed out by the media is the financial health of these companies. Major stock price decline, junk bond stock status, and rumors of bankruptcy are not indicators of good financial health.
    Yes, not dead, but does just selling the most of something and at the same time losing billions of dollars each year mean that there is not much to worry about? Are you trying to tell us that GM and Ford are in fine shape just because they are doing the most selling?
    I think "not losing money" is more important than having a title of "sells the most." Heck, if you had to choose between owning a company that has sold one car for a trillion dollars and another company that has sold a million cars and lost a trillion dollars which one would you choose?
    Now if you can validate that the media is lying about the billions of dollars that GM and Ford are losing then there might be cause to criticize the media and have a warm, fuzzy, feeling about GM and Ford as well.

    Sure is! With all the various GM incentives last year it appears (to me, at least) that they took the "We lose money on every sale, but we make it up in volume" thing a bit too seriously.
