Why am I suddenly getting a never-ending avalanche of pop-up ads?

Recently there are continuous pop-up ads whenever I visit Prius Chat.
They seem to come from Google.
But I view many different forums on a variety of topics. None of the other forums blanket my screen with pop-ups.

    Any suggestions for reducing this?

add a popup blocker to your preferred browser.
I run 3, though it breaks links and needs to be turned off when accessing some government sites.

Easy, your ad blocker didn’t load. :)

Or PriusChat was somehow placed on the blockers' exceptions list. Turned-Off for the PriusChat site.

Like I said, I run several - so if something flips one of them off the others would pick them up. I review my exceptions list every quarter - they should always be empty. Easy Peasy.

    Problem solved.
For years I used Ublock (a Chrome extension) but not long ago it became incompatible with Chrome and got itself forcibly uninstalled.
I didn't observe a whole lot of annoying issues until recently.
So now I'm trying "AdBlock" (another Chrome extension)

I use adblock plus or ultimate. The chrome browser tends to scrape a lot of information, unless you run it in privacy mode.
