I just saw a Nissan commercial in which a woman is sitting at a computer customizing her very own Nissan Maxima online with an iMac. It's very blatant promotional placement of the Mac. One scene is of her looking into the monitor from behind the monitor with the word "iMac" right in your face.

I can understand when movies do placement for payment to help offset the cost of the movie but why a car company in a commercial?

Hmm. I did see a Progressive Insurance commercial (I think) that had the lady working on a computer and the monitor clearly shows 'LG'

Most likely they want to be associated with fantastic design, which Apple's got down like no other computer maker.

Yes, that would be my guess. The design of the Macs is visually hip and probably photographs well. They just look.....good.

    Good thoughts.

I've seen Prii rolling or parked in the background of insurance commercials and even a Yellow Book commercial. But this seemed different. It wasn't just that the woman was working on a computer and if you know your computers you'd recognise the shape and color of the Mac; this was the word "iMac" right there in your face and in another shot, the Apple logo was very prominant.
