Why no trip mpg readout on energy distribution screen?

Is it just me or is the lack of a trip mpg readout on the screen which shows where all the energy is going a bit of a flaw? I like having the energy readout showing and the acceleration thingy in the HUD, however to see how I'm doing with mpg I have to switch to the next screen. And then to get back to the energy flow screen I have to cycle through 4 or 5 other screens.

Does anyone else find this annoying?

I do. At the end I don't care about the energy flow anymore and I focus more on how I drive, look at the road. Sometimes I even turn off the screen altogether. But I agree with you. As it is is more for "showing-off" rather than being 100% useful.

That Energy Monitor was a good educational device over the past decade, but was never as informative as the Consumption Screen. And now that the newest Prius offer the Eco-Meter, showing favor toward it makes sense... especially now that screens on dashboards are growing in popularity.

Watch what happens when the bar on the Eco-Meter changes from green to white. That's something you'd neve know about just by observing the flow of energy. Seeing that is actually more informative about MPG.

Yes, I find the MID annoying. Add a ScanGauge for more useful information.

    Wish we could get HUD

Also wish at times we could just have a blank screen

I like the Gen2 Display way better.
