I have a steep 500 foot hill to drive up in order to get to my street. Recently there was a 2 inch snowfall and I can get a third of the way up before the engine cuts power and the car won't go any further even with my foot to the floor. I assume this is some type of traction control but I couldn't find anything about it in the owners manual or if there is a way to disconnect it. Any ideas?
Yeah, the traction control takes over the stop the wheels from spinning. It can be a little unsetteling the first time is happens. I had to back down our hill and get a faster running start to get up in a deep snow. Now I can anticipate it. There are several other posts on here regarding this topic, and even a link to a consumer reports article somewhere. Here's one link: http://priuschat.com/Traction-Control-2006...els-t27520.html
