Apparently, a lot of local city & county agencies are purchasing Prii for their motor pools. Google handed me several articles this weekend about this:

    New Jersey: http://www.c-n.com/news/c-n/story/0,2111,9...,946230,00.html
    Grand Prarie, Texas: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...cles.9feb3.html
    Charleston, SC: http://www.charleston.net/stories/041904/l...19traffic.shtml

    Two interesting notes:
    • It sounds like both NJ and SC have arranged a deal with Toyota to get their Prii for a discount. The New Jersey article mentions a $4K rebate, and the Charleston article mentions they're getting their Prii for $19K.
    • I was interested in the comment in the Dallas News about a Prius not being suitable as a police pursuit or patrol vehicle; they apparently need to be able to go 130 MPH for that job. Is that the main criteria for police cars?
