I've been wondering if I can turn my vehicle on if the battery in the key fob is dead? I fear that one day it could happen! 2008 Magnetic Grey Pkg. 2 only 1 week old!!

    Thanks,

Yes. Insert the fob into the slot on the dashboard. (This works only because the car transmitter excites the fob circuits. The slot does not recharge the fob battery.)

The SKS function won't work with a dead fob battery, but you can still put the fob in the dash to start the car.

[edit: rs, you beat me to it by mere seconds ;)]
