Prius 2013. After I power off the car with the Power button there appears to be a little bit of time during which I can push the window buttons and get the windows to close. Maybe five or ten seconds. If after that short period I notice that the windows are open I have to push the Power button twice to get to a state where to use the window buttons to close the windows.

Is there any way to extend that time to a longer setting?

I suspect not, but if there's way, I would like to know how to do it, too .

    I also don't think so.
Even though I've learned that people can "create" anything they want if they REALLY want to work at it.

But in general the short time delay that you get to power your windows after shutting the vehicle off, is I think just an operational convienence that Toyota provided.

If you miss the "Window" in Shutting your Window? You're out on your Glass.

I've sat in my Prius, after I've parked and turned it off, talking on my phone....and there does just seem to be a short time period you get where you can operate the windows. Because after about a minute or less, even if I haven't opened the door, I won't be able to adjust the window.

It's very possible it does BOTH.
That is, you can't adjust the window once the door has been opened.
And ALSO if you're just sitting in the vehicle for whatever reason, with it off..you only get a short period of time to make adjustments.

Yes, it's set so you can close the windows (and sunroof if so equipped) for a set time after the car is powered down (30 seconds comes to mind) or until you open a door.

It's somewhat frustrating that if you leave the sunroof open you only get a beep that tells you that after you open the driver's door, at which time you have to turn the car on again to close it. On the other hand I'm not sure what would be a better warning signal since you might want to sit in the car with it off but the roof open...

You might ask your dealer if it can be adjusted with a TechStream. Just about everything on the car is controlled by the CANbus protocol.

I thought the timer setting was 20 sec., and it ends if -any- door is opened before that time. You press "auto up" for the windows that have it and then concentrate on closing the sun/moon roof and any window that doesn't have "auto up".
Or maybe the 20 sec. is for unlock-relock if no door is opened and the window setting IS 30 sec. I guess RTFM is in order. ;)

My WAG is 60 seconds, or until a door is opened, whichever occurs first. I don't recall seeing any setting in Techstream to adjust the window switch delay, but I have a notoriously bad memory. It's quite possible I adjusted it to 60 seconds, which would explain why my guess is higher than others.

From page 126 of the 2015 owner's manual-

Operating the power windows after turning the hybrid system off
The power windows can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even
after the “POWER” switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off.
They cannot, however, be operated once either front door is opened.
