Summer is coming up, and we're planning some vacations where the car may be parked in the sun for a few hours at a time. Would it be wise to get a windshield screen to protect the dash from the sun? And if so, would the Toyota dealer have the best one or is there an online or mailorder place that is recommended?

    Thanks,

    Dave

I purchased mine from the PriusChat Store. I would have to add that it's difficult to deploy, but it definitely does help avoid some of the heat buildup. I try to park facing AWAY from the Sun's direction and leave a couple of windows ½" to 1" down to allow hot air to escape.

Sun Shields on all windows (even the small triangular ones), with side windows slightly vented, make a 20° + difference (cooler) in vehicle interior in summer. I keep mine handy at all times.

Windshield glass still transmits ca. 8% UV radiation, so a Sun Shield helps reduce interior fading.
