My 2009 Prius windshield cracked. Toyota branded glass is very expensive. What after market brand should I use? I know we need to install a soundproofing glass for Prius. The dealer wanted 700 $ for the windshield alone and I need to get it installed somewhere else. Spoke to a local glass installer. They can install it for couple of hundred. The Glass they are going to install it GBN FYG. Is GBN FYG any good? Another option is to call Safelite. I want a glass as close to OEM spec as possible without paying 700 $ + installation. What should I do?
We just had this discussion on here a couple weeks ago. Always wise to use a search engine to get your answer faster than asking... And the answer is the only difference between OEM windshields and aftermarket ones is price.
Pretty much equal it's a standard more or less . There was a company years ago that did some testing on some major brands and their distributors and they're were a few that seemed weak etc . Big long drawn out bunch of BS that really wouldn't affect me or mine too much so.
