Bah, barely 130kms in and I've lost the first bar. This past summer, I've been getting close to 200kms before the first bar disappears. The MFD reads 4.6L/100km (51mpg) at the moment. I can probably assume that they've switched to winter fuel because my commute back to school is pretty darn efficient (summer time, I can do a round trip and get 3.9L/100km, nearly 60mpg). Also, the temperature has been cooler with some rain thrown in. Oh well, it's been a nice run this summer.

I know what you mean Jon, I'm over 600 km's into this tank and 3 bars left but now I'm afraid to fuel it up because I know this just won't happen again till May of next year. Gaaaaaaa this sucks.

At least your commute nets you better mileage. It actually got bumped to 4.7 today but a short highway jaunt lowered it back to 4.6. Lost another bar too and still not at 200.

I was getting ready to post something similar. This is my first tank that won't crack 51 mpg. I'm stuck between 48 and 49 and I'm down to 3 bars at only 300 miles for the tank (albeit one that I thought was an underfuel) :(

Oh well, I was expecting this come winter...

I managed to get that tank to 49.9 and the new tank is at 55 early, so it might just be the cold and the rain...

i saw a blurb in the paper, most of the country switched to winter fuel on sept 15th. a lot earlier than i remember them switching last year.

keep in mind, part of it has to do with political wrangling to get people in a more favorable frame of mind with the current administration. winter fuel is cheaper to make which accounts for part of the decline in prices.

I did notice a slight increase in the fuel consumption when that last cold front went thru with the wind and rain. I did manage 48 US on that tank so will have to wait and see how this one goes. But I'm probably going to put in my winter lips just the same, it just hasn't been that warm. And with the MiniScanner I can monitor the temps.
