This week we watched 'Melody Time'! It is by far one of my favorites of the Package Film Era!

In the 1940s, when most of the Animators were drafted and the ones that were left were basically all put on government propaganda work. But Disney Animated Studios, while famous and popular, were still precariously positioned financially. The Studio still needed to put out feature length animation, so they took shorts, unfinished ideas, and cut pieces and "packaged" them together to sell. It starts with "Saludos Amigos" and ends with "Icabod and Mr. Toad".

I have it on my DVR, very excited to see it.

    I'm going to say, no.

It's not "children's stuff" it's "family stuff". And there is a big difference.
Today, too much stuff is "children's entertainment" while not being appealing to anyone else, but Disney was an advocate for Art in animation, so it was always intended for a wider audience. Several segments of 'Melody Time', Trees in particular, are probably pretty boring to kids.
