WNBC's Sue Simmons drops the dreaded "F" word

    I get a great laugh when the veneer of broadcast news cracks a bit and real emotion spills out. WNBC's Sue Simmons is doing a promo on the price of food and what you can do to lessen the cost when someone screws up and runs footage of what looks like a cruise ship right after it. Sue loses it and exclaims "What the F**K are you doing?" It's pretty funny but the actual word is not bleeped so if you cringe when you hear that word, don't play the video. She later apologized. A bonus, though, is found if you scroll down a little to find a link of another video of Bill O'Reilly flipping out about the teleprompter not working. You should not run these videos with virgin ears in the vicinity, be forewarned.

    It's amazing that these folks, who are paid to be on the air every day, don't realize that "the microphone is always on." However, I have no objection to "dirty" language.

    I could never understand that, either. I mean, I can say on the air, "I made love to her," "I got laid by her," "I had sexual intercourse with her," and they all pretty much mean the same thing. But use a word that starts with the letter F to say the exact same thing and the FCC starts throwing fines like confetti. Why?!?

    O'Reilly's a poxy c*nt muppet. I only get that mad when Newcastle concedes a silly goal (which is about once a week).

    Seriously though.... what an attitude problem.

    As far a language is concerned... it's a bloody word, get over it. This is one area where the English are light years ahead of us.

    Yes because it's happened many times already. Usually when mics/cameras have been switched on and the person in front of them is not aware of that fact. There's the standard hand-waving and apologies and shocked pundits frothing at the mouth and the calls of "Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children?!?!" and then life - somehow, someway - goes on.

    I don't think people should lose their jobs for a simple slip of the tongue. Hearing the word "****" over a major media outlet once in a blue moon isn't going destroy anyone's life.
