Won't go into gear! Please help!

My 2012 prius won't drive or turn completely on, I believe. I was driving home running low on gas. All of a sudden it wouldn't go no matter how much gas you gave. I assumed I ran out of gas pulled over, was brought a gallon, but after I put it in i push to start it turns on only partly. Power button is still red but ac is on windows work but it won't go into gear. It tells me to switch into park but that doesn't work. Please help! My battery is good I carried it into autozone and had it tested . It's at 70%.
