... So here is the deal... My dad in is all knowing state of mind thinks he can wire my new XM radio... It has a sure connect thing that has to attach to the antenna. He pretty much pulled the entire roof panel off and then some trying to run the wire from the antenna to the front of the car where the XM dock is. So now he tries to start the car in order to test out his crazy idea and now the car WONT start... nothing... no beeping or anthying... the check engine light is on and thats it...

Any ideas as to what needs to be done or what he broke?

    *cries*

    Welcome to PriusChat.

No doubt he had one or more doors open... and the interior lights, if on, ran
the 12V battery down. The light in the hatch back area is especially easy to
    overlook. :(

If that's the case, be absolutely, 110% certain that you connect any jumpers
with the correct polarity. Follow the cable connection sequence noted in the
Owner's Manual. A simple screw-up here could cost thousands.

And as a extra added bonus, the life of your 12V battery will now be noticably
shortened below the ~4 years that is otherwise typical.

Unpleasant as it is, that's the most likely scenario. Sorry.

    Don't go away just yet.

Other more experienced members may see a different scenario.

    Check back later and see.

    Your Mom's right... as usual.

Oh, and give the the Old Man a real hug and some soft words.
I suspect he's really taking a huge ego hit right about now.
