    First sentence in the article:

    Construction has begun on the first two of B.C. Ferries’ new battery-electric hybrid Island-class vessels.

    The term “hybrid” in particular: is it pure electric propulsion or there’s still an engine?

    kinda sad they can’t be built locally.
