Insure it for theft. Take the car out to a high crime area. Leave the car with the keys in the ignition with the car running. Walk away.

    If you have to ask...

In other words, I think you know the answer to this question.

I agree. Burritos's posts are getting more and more bizarre. He/she used to be fun to spar with, but as of late Burritos has just not contributed much to this forum.

What a stupid thing to post, I think this thread should be moved to somewhere more fitting.

people wont even steal that. the cops try it all the time to catch would-be thiefs, and they even try to sweeten the deal by leaving DVDs and junk all over the car.

You'll come back and find out that it's still there with a parking ticket on it, the engine is off, and someone siphoned all of the gas out of it.

I don't even have an SUV, just a thought for the desperate people who are trying to find ways to unload theirs.

the only problem with the original post was the suv needs to be missing for an entire 30 day period before you can collect the money, on most insurance policies

I know that some insurance companies won't cover theft if they find out that the keys were in the car. They will also ask questions like "Why did you leave the keys in it and park it in the ghetto?"

Mexicans are buying them as long as gas is cheap in Mexico. I sold my Navigator a couple of months ago for $500 over blue book in less than 24 hrs. Just parked it in front of my office and I had 3 offers before 3pm.. 2 of them had plans to take it into Mexico.

Ask a junk yard what they will pay you for the parts. I would say ask a chop shop to do it but they don't expect SUV owners to drive their vehicles to their shop. I like the donation option and, if you feel that is too big a hit, ask the donation people what they do with the donated SUV;s.
The other option I think is the best...save it...store it...keep it in great shape and wait for the conversion kit that will allow you to use it when we are no longer in a gas crisis because our auto builders woke up from their dreaded SUV nightmares and addressed the gas crisis problem with lots of Prius'.

Oh, look up the words accessory & co-conspirator. It just concerns me when people's brains work like that. That is the first step to actually committing the crime. People need to stop placing themselves in the path of the criminal justice system by doing stupid stuff. Once the system gets it teeth into your butt you will forever have those teeth marks to explain to everyone. Trust me I deal with this daily.
