and were given unlimited gas? The gas tank holds 100 gallons, so you would get 300 miles per tank. But no worries, you would never have to pay for the gas. The provisions to this arrangement is that you would have drive as your primary vehicle, and all other household vehicles would have to be replaced with more mega SUVs of course with free unlimited gas for those vehicles also. In other words, you would get free transportation for the rest of you and your family's life, but the price paid is a very nasty carbon footprint.

Yes, I would take it, but then I'm pretty unprincipled.

Just who is making this weird offer? If it is a theoretical put, what is the point?

Can I convert it into an RV and live in it? I might need a place to live by next year.

Some people care about pollution, carbon footprint, etc... If you don't, fine. If you do, can it be bought off?

I hate big cars too much.
I could drive a 6 cylinder Holden Commodore to and from work at no cost to me but I drive my Prius, so I guess I am living part of what would be my choice in this thread.

How's that for putting my money where my mouth is?

Very admirable. Even more so if you don't have excessive disposable income.

Under those conditions, no way. I'd rather walk. Oh, wait, I already do. :)

I'd take the free behemoth only if I could turn it into a homeless shelter.

I've evolved beyond free-to-me-at-the-expense-of-the-environment. Sure, I'd take the behemoth, and have it crushed with the media covering the event.

I'm just a humble public servant with a mortgage, a kid, and a second hand car on payments.

Pontificate this; "If you could make EV's the standard for 80% of the population within 5 years, would you (knowing you'd never get caught) kill just one person who started a really lame thread?"

... or save thousands of lives ... it's the same creepy thing.

Parking is gonna suck with that thing. I think I rather stick to having fun with my bicycle and use the Prius as my daily driver. And I already have a Honda Odyssey as a family hauler which has more room in the back and a lower loading height than any SUV out there.
