WOW!

    Just an hour to get the paperwork done and then out the door. Fifty miles on it for s supper drive and then home. Hills, flat, city and highway. 50.2 MPG! And no special techniques. WOW! If this is Priusing, I'm in.

    I was on Priuschat for 7.5 months while I waited for Priapus and I thought I knew it all when I went to pick him up. I wasn't halfway home when it occured to me that reading theory does not compare to driving it for real.
    You will see yourself and your driving styles completely differently now. In time, you will see others differently too.

    Reading theory may not be the reality of having the car, but it sure
    helps a lot. By the time I picked mine up I felt pretty experienced
    in knowing its quirks, thanks to forums like this. Then the rest
    of the learning process kicked in, tying up a bunch of loose ends
    at the same time as opening up tons of new questions. That's still
    true. 14 months later, yet...

    It's also fun teaching the Toyota sales rep about the car... ;)

    I really made the guy's job easy - I just walked in and told him what colour and equipment I want and had them negotiate their best price. :) As luck would have it, they actually had a demo car fitting my exact criteria (!).

    Two days later I drove home in my car and haven't looked back since. What an awesome piece of technology!

    The only glitch I have encountered is latch on the driver-side rear seat does not lock in place when folding the seats back up... The release button does not pop back up. (?) I plan to have Toyota address this when I bring it in for the next oil change.

    I think almost everybody has that seat-latch problem. Slam the crap
    out of it, it'll stick...
