    Hey everyone,

Currently out of town on a road trip and my 2012 Prius is acting funny. Went to autozone to check the odb port and get a code because the "stop check hybrid system" with yellow triangle indicator turned on, precided by a check engine light that came on and off yesterday. When the autozone tech plugged into the obd port with two device we did not receive any code like I was hoping, only a engine is not running message even though the engine was in fact running. Then the warning lights turned off. Any guess as what it could be? Had the main battery back replaced last summer so shouldn't be that. Maybe battery fan?

auto zone can'r always read the codes, dealer would be able to, or someone with tech stream.
is the fluid in the inverter pump reservoir moving with the car on and engine shut down?
did you put in a new oem battery or aftermarket?

Make sure your engine oil is dead on the mark but not overfilled. Make sure your engine antifreeze and inverter coolant are full and the inverter obviously is moving the said coolant Make sure of it and make sure the 12 volt is in fact holding at least 12.4 volts if it's an AGM modern battery which it almost has to be. And then of course there should be something in memory that a capable scanner will read You can almost be sure of it so a shop with the real diagnostic computer setup specifically for this purpose should be able to help you out or a list member in the area you're in right now possibly.

Hey so I did just refill the coolant reservoirs on both sides. I am not sure if the inverter pump reservoir is moving while I am stoped. If it is, what does that mean? I haven't replaced the 12v battery in awhile.

Yes, the problem is it is Sunday and most shops are unfortunately closed. I will check the 12V battery, maybe it is starting to go bad?

Did you have a battery pack replaced with a brand new one, or just a rebuilt one?

It was refurbished, I do not think it is all new. I am not completely ruling it out, but it's only a year old built by a phenomenal company. If it is the larger battery, it is warrantied.

if there is movement, the pump is fine. if not, it needs to be replaced

I honestly could not see any movement. However, it has become obvious I have a coolant leak.

That is true, however I am not hearing any engine knocking or rough idle as of yet.

I would stick to searching for the leak for now, but if you can’t find it, think about head gasket testing
