Just wore out my Yoko avid at 44,000. Changed to Michelin energy savers at America tire. I was torn between the Hydroedge and energy savers but American said the Hydroedge was not available from anywhere, just notice Costco has them. The energy are suppose to be made for the Hybrids. Hard to tell in the cold weather about my mileage, I think I can feel a little more roll and quiet. I hope my mileage increases since I have become obsessed with mileage since I got the Prius. Can you let me know what others got from the Yoko and how you like the Michelin energy savers. On another note I change oil at Midas and rotate tires they want 97.00 for the change for the 0-20 oil I thought that was out of line because the other synthetics are the same price. Let me know what your experiences are.

Purchase your own oil and bring it with you.

I'm not keen on the Michelins because they are not H speed rated. H speed rated tires are made to tighter tolerances so they have fewer problems with uneven wear and vibrations. Also H speed rated tires have more material in the tread and bead areas so they are more robust.

i put on the Michelins in mid October and there has been a slight drop maybe 1 mpg. now that winter is here, the drop is more like 4 mpg. but the driver does not drive efficiently, has heat and defrost on all the time set to 80º etc.

unfortunately, will probably never find out as it will be sold to sis in mid Jan when the Leaf comes in. different driver, different data. probably hard to correlate

Okay I have over 400 miles on my Energy savers now and I'm starting to get a better feel for MPG. I put 40.5 PSI in front and 38.5 in rear. Just bought a digital tire pressure gauge. I am bypassing the cold weather reading problem by setting the trip gauge once the car is warmed up. I must say I am getting better MPG, I can go to town about 12 miles and keep it on that 99.9 mark when traffic conditions allow. Haven't taken a long trip just about 25 miles and I can keep it in the 60 to 70 MPG. Of course any hill climbing the MPG drops quickly. But in ideal driving conditions the roll on the tires are better.

We have over 30,000 miles on our Michelin Energy Saver tires after
replacing the factory Yokohama tires, 195x65x15.

They are smooth riding and we should get at least another 30,000 miles out of them. We have 44 psi on nitrogen (Costco)in all 4 which is max pressure, 44 psi.

As for MPG we have expierenced at least, 2 mpg increase, probably
more like 3 mpg has they roll so well at times it feels they
    can roll uphill.

Thanks for your input. I went to town tonight and still got 99.9. Yes it is was a little bit down hill and averaging the mileage comming back home brings it down into the 50's. But it is amazing on a straight a way using very little gas. Its like u said maybe 3 or 4 Mpg difference overall but a much bigger difference on a roll without using much gas. What do u think.
