Your field may make you a decent living but it demands of you a minimum level of knowledge, expertise and effort. Well, knowledge, expertise and effort are all three superfluous to this guy's career, and he rakes it in 8 figures a year. Clearly, a role model for all of us:

Where did it all come from?
    By Bill O’Reilly

David, Beverly Hills, Florida: “What do you mean when you refer to the tides when you are asked about the existence of God? Science explains the tides … the moon’s gravity pulls on the oceans”.

OK, how’d the moon get there? How did the moon get there?

Look, you pinheads who attack me for this, you guys are just desperate. How’d the moon get there? How’d the sun get there? How’d it get there? Can you explain that to me? How come we have that, and Mars doesn’t have it? Venus doesn’t have it. How come? Why not? How’d it get here?

How did that little amoeba get here? Crawl out there? How’d it do it? C’mon.

You have order in this universe. You have an order in the universe. Tide comes in. Tide goes out. OK, yeah, the moon does it, fine; how’d the moon get there? Who put it there? Did it just happen?

OK, if we have existed, since we have life, on earth, how come they don’t have it on the other planets? Were we just lucky; some meteor did this, pkkkkkz? C’mon.

You know, I see this stuff, it’s desperate. As I’ve said many times, it takes more faith to not believe, and to think that this was all luck, every- all this human body, the intricacies of it and everything else, all luck, than it does to believe in a diety, you know.

He's just trying to justify and rationalize his own ignorance. Uncomfortably.

Bill O'Talking head: "I saw Apollo man, He was down there. He was not looking good".

Good intellectual response. Probably he was referencing to himself. Or maybe just having audio and visual delusions. Nice.

You're Wrong... but so was his quotes in the OP AFAIAC...

Actually... Bill is in the perfect career position... some folks don't like his beliefs... some folks know a bit more on several topics... and some folks who do not believe in his faith (or any for that matter) will continue to have moments disagreeing with whatever he has to say.

I think Bill is spot on on numerous topics and commentary...

In this instance... not so much.

My truth is that Bill O'Reilly is an a-hole. You cannot prove to me that Bill O'Reilly is not an a-hole, so I will choose to believe he is.

Also, I believe in Sol, the Sun God because I see the Sun every day.

Every sentence that comes out of that man's mouth is wrong. But he is NOT an idiot - he just plays one on TV. He's smart enough to pull down an eight-figure salary, so something must be working upstairs.

Same with Glenn, Rush, and all the others.

Of course. Who wouldn't want to bank 8 figures a year for doing no homework, no preparation, just mouth off for a few minutes saying things no different from what any jackass pulled at random off the sidewalk would say? Damn right I'd want that job.

It's just f---g amazing that something like that COULD be a job. That it's not only a job but one that pays in the top 1% GLOBALLY is stupefying, like discovering that the stuff I put in the commode has a market value 1000 times its equivalent mass in gold.

Kinda makes you rethink the laws of nature :p

For that matter, how did Bill O'Reilly get there? Luckily, I can just change the channel and make him go away.

I must admit, I could only stomach about 2 minutes of the video. Not because of O'Reilly's beliefs, but because he, like so many other commentators/interviewers ask a questing and then cut off their guest' response half way through. If you ask a question, at least have the courtesy to allow your 'guest' to complete a single sentence in response to that question.

This is a very key point, and one of my pet peeves. Badgering, bullying, and shouting down your opponent does not prove your view correct. If an idea has merit, it will stand on its own during civil discourse. Beating up someone to prove your are right is juvenile. Furthermore, it's just plain rude.

I really enjoy civil discussion, where two opposing views can be debated without name calling. Apparently that doesn't sell well on TV, as it is rarely seen today.

^ Could that be a result of not having to 'sell' your product?
