White Smoke and Hot Hose After Cleaning EGR

I cleaned the EGR system on my 2011 Prius, including replacing the EGR pipe and valve. However, I'm now experiencing issues with white smoke, on the hose connecting the throttle body to the EGR pipe is excessively hot.
