Did you miss the show during our end-of-summer hiatus? Good! This week on the PriusChat Show we are lucky enough to sit down and have an in-depth conversation with Toyota’s Prius Team, Doug Coleman and Erica Gartsbeyn. Doug is unfortunately moving from the Prius Team to another product within Toyota, so this interview covers a wide range of topics including Doug’s highest and lowest moments with the Prius.

We also talk with Erica about the future of the Prius Team and whether Toyota will continue to participate on PriusChat after the shake-up.

2012 Prius Plug-In official photos released

The day is finally here. Toyota has finally released photos of the 2012 Prius Plug-In, complete with a snazzy new front end, very snazzy new tail lights, and a re-postioned plug position. These photos are from Toyota GB, so some of these features could only be for the European or Japanese markets. We should have photos of the US model soon. The gallery has now been updated with all of the US model photos provided by Toyota.

2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In: 15 mile EV range, 87 MPGe, $32,000

Several years in the making, today Toyota announced final product information for the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In. The Prius Plug-In will have a 15 mile EV range, get 87 MPGe, and cost $32,000. When taking into account the $2,500 federal tax credit, the price comes down to $29,500.

EPA reveals revised fuel economy labels, seeks your input

In the face of an onslaught of advanced-tech vehicles coming out over the next year, the EPA has finally revealed the first versions of their revised fuel economy window labels. And they're looking for your feedback before the final labels are created.

Feel free to curse him, put a hex on him, do whatever you'd like, but long-time PriusChat member and moderator Tony Schaefer is the first "Joe Schmoe" to have an extended opportunity to test drive the Prius PHV around. Toyota was kind enough to deliver a Prius PHV to Tony in Chicagoland earlier this week for his trip to Green Drive Expo in Madison, WI.

Tom Hanks Auctioning Off His 2004 Plug-In Prius

Tom Hanks has put his 2004 Plug-In Prius on the auction block in an effort to raise money for a charity called Welcome Back Veterans, an initiative created by Major League Baseball to assist OEF/OIF veterans and their families with deployment-related mental health concerns.

"Welcome Back Veterans is offering crucial support services to America's military men and women and their families," said Hanks. "When it comes to supporting our veterans and their families, I am proud to do whatever I can."
