Default Motorola V600

I snagged a V600 from our editorial department to try out with the Prius. It worked flawlessly. I have to admit, the phone is damn nice, but the bluetooth functionality is just brilliantly implemented.

AT&T and Cingular both carry the phone, in case anyone is interested...

Ok, so I've been using the phone for a little while and have read the other threads about bluetooth compatibility and the Prius.

I am unable to ge the phone enabled to answer calls through the prius. It makes calls without any trouble at all. But the incoming call settings are greyed out, even after I removed and re-added the phone.

I am not having the problem that others are having, however, with the phone having to be deleted and re-added each time you start the car. The car finds the phone without any trouble with each startup.

Any ideas on how to get the answering mode working properly?

Thanks,

Did you come up with a remedy to your problem?

I have a V600 on the way and when it arrives I will try it to see if I experience the same problem.

To follow up:
I was able to register two different V600's to the Prius with no problems making or receiving calls.
Two things of note: The car will not indicate an incoming call if the registered V600 is on "silent", and transferring the phone book can only be done one entry at a time (unless I'm doing something incorrectly).

Dan,
Please help, i can't get my v600 to work!! I search for devices, sometime it finds one. The I do the Bluetooth thing and it says "unable to connect"
I did it with 1212 and 0000. It worked once and then never again. Is it some setting in the phone that i have to set? I have worked for countless hours to get it working but to no avail.

Give me a heads up please.
Jerry

Sadly, I wish I could help you, but I don't have the phone any longer, so it is hard for me to troubleshoot...

Good luck!

Upgraded to a Motorola V600 / Cingular / 5_15_04
V600 Software Version: Triplets_G_08.09.2FR
V600 Flex Version: GS9U600CIN02NA11C
DSP S/W Version: 62D5C500

Noticed when I was setting up the phone for bluetooth operation, the phone initially indicated it was in a bluetooth temporary condition. By setting Power On to "On" it took a permanent condition and didn't list the temporary on, as before.
This setting can be accessed by: Settings/Connection/Bluetooth Link/Setup/Power On/"On"
I believe this fixed the problem others were having with the Prius linking one time only.
The only problem I ran into was on an incoming call the Prius would not "Ring", however the voice of the incoming call was load and clear. The information display would indicate an incoming call, press button on steering wheel for answer and it worked correctly. Just would not Ring.
That problem was solved by changing the V600's setting: Car Setting/Auto Answer/Off
Phonebook entries have to be done one at a time, then xfer the desired Phonebook entries to the "One touch dialing menu" for dialing while Prius is in motion.
Here is a list of my setting:
Prius Setting
Telephone/Settings/Bluetooth/Settings/"Bluetooth Handsfree"
V600 Settings:
a. Headset/Auto Answer "Off"
b. Headset/Voice Dial "Off"
c. Car Settings/Auto Answer "Off"
d. Car Settings/Auto Handsfree "On"
e. Connection/Bluetooth Link/Handsfree/Bluetooth Handsfree
f. Connection/Bluetooth Link/Setup/Power "On"
g. Connection/Bluetooth Link/Setup/Voice Dial "Off"
h. In-Call Setup/Answer Options/Multi-key "On"
i. In-Call Setup/Answer Options/Open to Answer "On"
