My Car: 2007 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | As a classic owner, I'm interested in getting an MP3-based system installed, cd or otherwise. Mine came with no CD or NAV. I already have Harry's Jenson setup, but the player unit died in short order (too much rough road conditions here in Hoboken and Weehawken). So looking at other options. The main alternative I'm looking at now is the PhatNoise player (they recommend pro install): http://www.phatnoise.com/products/digitalm...yers/toyota.php I may also consider an iPod, if direct interface is possible after removing the Jenson setup. Any suggestions? In the case of the PhatNoise solution, would the PriusXM folks be interested in helping with the install if I go that route?

My Car: 2007 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Semi-bump: As there were no answers yet to this, I went looking more. After noting the links to Denison and their iLink, I perused the site and thought that their HDD MP3 player may be a better solution (since it's a 1-DIN unit and could theoretically replace the Jenson). I've sent them a note and perhaps can get some answers from that end too. I'm still looking for further comments on this, including from the '04 owners. It appears that we're all in the same boat on this one item. --TSK |

My Car: 2007 Prius Package: #5 Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Followup 2: Dension's units are useable in Prius, as long as you're not interested in dash control integration. I'm not, since it would just go where the Jensen was anyway and I'd just turn it on and go. I'm putting any purchase on hold though while dealing with a few other things that require my financial attention... Note that I only asked about the Classic. An 04 owner would need to contact Dension if integration is possible there. --TSK |

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: C Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I really wish Toyota would get on-board with this and develop/release a MP3 player. That would completely solve my only remaining gripe with the car. If it was a HD-based MP3 player, all the better Dave |

It could be controlled through the screen as well to a limited degree. It was a CD based unit that went into the DIN sized slot in the dash (where the 1 or 6 disc Toyota players were installed). I considered it, but realized that I had paid too much for the 6 disc changer option when I bought and couldn't justify spending more to get mp3. |
