Hi all:
I am also an Australian Prius enthusiast who is slowly becoming disillusioned with the Coastal geek/people, despite having not even spent any money with them yet.
I also cannot get them to reply to any Emails querying their products and am also very interested in installing some aftermarket gadgets.
Can anyone post any further recommendations as to alternatives to the Lockpick range that offer similar functionality (ie; reverse camera/video inputs, audio inputs, unlocking in dash DVD, bypassing all of the "I Agree's" and in motion lockouts?)
The Ultimate Lockpick thingy does seem to claim to offer everything I'm after, however being an International customer, it seems I may not be able to buy one from them anyway!?
Any further advice appreciated in advance.

I just rec'd a lockpick 3 for my birthday and my family tried to get it installed before they gave it to me. They charged $112.00 for installation but only hooked up the nav override. The installer said he couldn't figure out where the A/V plug-ins went even though they had the radio pulled out.
So either they didn't read the directions or it's hard to figure out where it plugs in. Can anyone suggest a site that walks through the installation or shows more specific pics than what costal tech supplies? It's an 2007 prius. Thanks

I installed my lockpick3+ about a week ago and the instructions supplied by costaletech with the kit were quite good. Have you read the installation instructions that came with the kit? The audio for the A/V kit attaches the the back of the radio and the video for the A/V kit attaches to the back of the MFD.

Thanks for your info. Do the AV sources plug into the Lockpick or into something under the seat?
Are the V inputs NTSC/PAL/composite specific? ie for a reversing camera etc?
Still can not get ANY answers from Coastal

Sadly, THIS site is your best source for Coastal since several members have installed their products.

Coastal has a terrible reputation (do a search) in terms of customer service. I'll never buy from them.

I don't have the Lockpick but I believe I remember reading on their site that there's an additional cable that you have to purchase that has all the appropriate RCA connectors on it for the A/V?

Thank you for your interest and have a great day.

What the hell? I sent a reply politely stating that they might think about not accepting international addresses and calculating international shipping charges if they don't frikkin accept non-American orders.

I also stated that I'd be happy with having a non-warranted, non-returnable item but I haven't heard back, and don't expect to now.

I know the Australian Prius is slightly different, but I would have thought it trivial to check or test their device on a few non-American cars by willing volunteers, or getting someone like me to check a few things first to see if it's likely to be compatible. I would have thought that they'd have a pretty intimate knowledge of the workings of the Prius to know what would need checking on one from Australia.
I can report that the Coastal ETech Basic Lockpick 3 (Nav unblock) does work on the UK 2008 Prius (and presumably also Australian and other International versions too).

I asked my brother to make the purchase for me while in the US. Coastal have a 30 day return policy by refunding to your credit card, so I was prepared to take that risk even though they are clear on their website that their products are not intended for use outside the US.

Instructions included in their package are fairly clear and the installation under the front passenger seat (for the UK right hand drive cars) takes seconds with no tools needed. I am not a mechanic and have never done this before (photos attached below).

One small point to remember is that you need to touch the Bullseye/Stickpin symbol at the top left of the Destination screen to activate the device and unlock the address input. Enjoy....!

I just got my 2008 (with pkg 5), how hard was it to install or do I have to get it installed? I don't have anyone here that could do it.

Does anyone know if this effects your warranty?
